Prayer for March 27, 2020

During these difficult days, Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar and the members of the Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

God of compassion,
as we stand alone on this vast plain surrounded by dry bones
we recall the prophecy:
“When I put breath in you, and you come to life,
you will know that I am the Lord.”
Your breath brings life;
breathe on us
so that we can wait out this season in hope, even as we struggle
so that we can feel Your presence, even in our fear
so that we can open our hearts in love, even as our doors are closed
so that we can hear Your wisdom, even though the noise distracts us
so that we can stand up, even when we pushed back down
even when it feels like our bones are dry and our souls are weary,
breath on us so that we may be restored by the joy of Your salvation. Amen
